Little River Canyon National Preserve, which covers more than 15,000 acres, is located atop Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne, Alabama and is one of the state's most beautiful nature spots. It's even more spectacular during the cold winter months.
The preserve's main feature is of course Little River Canyon, which is best known as the "Grand Canyon of the East." Even though this beautiful canyon, which is approximately 12 miles long, attracts numerous people during the warmer months, it's definitely seen its fair share of visitors after the arrival of winter.
Another feature of Little River Canyon National Preserve that attracts visitors from near and far is Little River Falls, which is one of the South's most recognizable and accessible waterfalls.
