Gatos and Beans is located in Birmingham, Alabama and is the state's first and only cat cafe. It's a definite must-visit for cat lovers.
This cat-themed cafe offers a variety of delicious coffees, teas, and hot chocolate in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The drinks also have some pretty creative names such as Hot Chocolate Calico and Cat-ppuccino.
What makes Gatos and Beans truly unique is the fact that it's a cafe and cat adoption center in one. This one-of-a-kind establishment is also used as a cat therapy location for people who aren't allowed to have cats at home. All cats are available for adoption through Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue.
The cats at Gatos and Beans thoroughly enjoy climbing, playing, lounging, etc. They especially love it when people come to visit with them. The fee to book an hour in the Cat Room is $10, which includes a cup of daily roast coffee or tea. Reservations are required.
Gatos and Beans also offers Cat Yoga, which is a beginner yoga class by Katie from Beacon Yoga. During this class, you'll likely be accompanied by one (or more) of the cafe's adoptable cats.
In addition to its delicious drinks and adorable cats, this cat-themed cafe also has a great selection of merchandise, aka "purr- chandise." From art and jewelry, to mugs and shirts, there's something for cat lovers of all ages.
