Right in the heart of Wilmington is a beautiful park and a beautiful Zoo - there's no reason to hike all the way to Philly or take the ferry over to Cape May! The Brandywine Zoo is one of the most underrated zoos in the country - visit with family or friends and you'll certainly have a great time.
There's more to see in Dover than the Green. Silver Lake Park has great running and biking trails, and the small beaches are a great way to enjoy a nice day. Bring your out of town friends here after exploring the rest of Dover for a great way to get the full capitol experience.

Forget the crowds of Rehoboth, bring your out-of-towner for a quiet Bowers Beach day while we're experiencing such warm weather. It's a quaint town with a well maintained beach, and it's one of Delaware's hidden gems.

Hanging out on the water in Wilmington is a great way to spend an afternoon, rather than the usual Trolley Square routine that everybody seems to do.
Georgetown is often forgotten by people visiting Delaware, but it's a wonderful little town to explore. The circle is beautiful and the dining choices are as good as any other Delaware city. So, mix it up, and take your guests to Georgetown!

If your guests want to get out and see nature, try Indian River Inlet. You could decide to camp, or just head out on the water. The beautiful (but haunted!) bridge has gorgeous walking and bike paths, too, with views that are out of this world.
Another great option for the outdoorsy guest would be Trap Pond State Park. It's not the first that usually comes to mind, but between the nature center and hiking trails, as well as the unique site of bald cypress trees, Trap Pond is a wonderful unusual Delaware destination.
Okay, so this might not exactly fit the "underrated" bill, but it's one of the best places to bring your guests. Lewes is adorable, and this park is one of the best ways to start a day trip to Lewes.

Fort Delaware is the BEST Delaware destination, especially in fall. It's so haunted and the State Park seems to take that very seriously when thoughts of Halloween creep into everyone's head. Bring your guest here to have them experience a creepy, unusual place in Delaware.
This goes along with Bowers Beach as another unusual Delaware destination beach. It's way down in Sussex county, so you can even make a double trip and explore Ocean City Maryland, if your guest insists. We all know that Fenwick is the better of the two towns, though.
