The first European settlers came here in 1606, and we had thousands of years of Native American history even prior to that. Like much of New England, we have remarkably well-preserved historic spots scattered all throughout the state, from old buildings on Yale’s campus to homes that George Washington slept in. One of the best small towns in the Litchfield Hills region is the little town of Woodbury, home to just under 10,000 people.
