Delaware is a tiny state that’s often dwarfed by nearby cities and is sometimes considered a “drive-over” state, because of its position between New York/Philadelphia and Baltimore/Washington D.C. on I-95. The Delaware Bay has been producing top-notch oysters for over 200 years. There are two distinct types - the Inner Bay oyster and the Cape Shore oyster. Inner Bay oysters are a little milder, while Cape Shore oysters are briny and sweet.

The du Pont family had a huge impact on American industry and the Wilmington / Philadelphia area. You can still see evidence of their presence today, with tremendous mansions and gardens turned into museums. The du Pont name will be forever tied to their home state, Delaware.
