Also known as the Purgatory River Track Site, the area contains a whopping 100 trackways and another 1,500 individual footprints, making it the longest recorded site in the world.

Picketwire Canyon is located near La Junta and can be accessed by taking CO Hwy 109 south for 13 miles, turning right (west) on Forest Service Road 2200 for 8 miles, left (south) on County Road 25 for 6 miles, then another left (east) onto FSR 2185 for 3.2 miles.
