Emandal has been family owned and operated for over 100 years. It all started when Em and Al Byrnes acquired the property in 1908. The couple began offering the farm experience to friends and family who wished to escape city life for a bit. The farm has been passed down in ownership a lot since then, but the sentiment has remained the same.
Emandal is proudly unlike your ordinary vacation spot. Instead, it describes itself as a gathering place for generations of family and friends. Open year round for farm stays in unique self-contained houses, it's here where you can unplug and experience the simple joys of life in the country.
There are a variety of year-round accommodations at Emandal. Guests can choose from three houses, each of which is from a different era and inviting in its own way. The Bunkhouse is the oldest, dating back to around 1910 when Al set aside the "bunkhouse" in the garage for a hired man.
Other options include the School House (built in the early 1930s) and the Straw Bale House (built in the late 1990s.) Each house is well acquainted with everything you could need, including cozy bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, and more.
In spring and summer, guests can opt to stay at the cabin campground in the woods. Tucked beneath Douglas firs, you'll find an assortment of charming redwood cabins that provide a more rustic experience than the houses. Guests have access to camp kitchens, shower houses and flush toilets, and the sweet tranquility of the forest.
