Did you know one of the architectural wonders in the United States is right here in Connecticut? The Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut, is owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is open for guided tours. The home is a stunning example of design and shows off not only the beauty of the building, but also the natural area around it.

The Glass House is located on a 200-acre park that actually features several stunning buildings. All were designed by famed architect Philip Johnson, who was incredibly influential in his field.

Johnson used the property as a weekend home for nearly 60 years. He primarily used the Glass House for parties towards the end of his life.
Get your dad jokes about throwing stones ready: this house is made almost entirely out of glass. The frame is constructed of steel, but otherwise, all exterior walls are transparent glass.
