When you think of an art museum, your mind may go to a stuffy, prim place for intellectuals and art snobs. One place that definitely doesn’t fit that mold is the Nassau County Museum of Art in New York. The park consists of 145 acres and not only contains traditional paintings and sculptures like you might expect at an art museum, but also has miles of trails, an arboretum, a lake, and a beautifully restored mansion.

The Nassau County Museum of Art is located is about 20 miles east of New York City in Roslyn Harbor. The main building that houses artwork is a three-story Georgian mansion.

The sculpture park is one of the largest outdoor sculpture parks in the northeast United States. Over 40 sculptures by 30 different artists reside on the property.

Sculptures are throughout the museum's acreage, and range from a variety of artistic eras. The oldest dates back to 1918, but newer sculptures were made in just the last few years.
