The North Georgia State Fair Is Cancelled For 2020

Unfortunately, 2020 brings some more bad news to the table in Georgia. For the first time in 87 years, the North Georgia State Fair is canceled. While the decision was a difficult one for the festival planners and fair managers, it was the right choice to make, especially with the opening date about a month away. What was set to take place from September 24, 2020, through October 4, 2020, at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta, the North Georgia Fair has been canceled for the first time in almost a century.

The fair has been around for 87 years and has been a staple for many Georgians and their families since pre-World War II.

The organizers of the fair explained that because of how COVID-19 has changed the scope of living for many states, it was the right thing to do to keep residents safe.

The North Georgia Fair always brought together delicious food, well-know musicians, thrilling rides, and exciting games.

And while visitors might not be able o ride any rides this year, festival organizers are trying to bring one favorite back—the food!

Taste of the Fair, a drive-thru food experience is set to take place over two weekends in the main parking lot of the festival grounds.

Guests will be able to drive through and snag some of their favorite festival treats straight from the source.

While they are still working out the details, Taste of the Fair is a welcomed option to still revel in what this giant celebration brings to Georgia.
