Here's How To Explore Washington Virtually For National Travel & Tourism Week

We realize this sounds like a cruel joke, given these strange times, but May 3 – 9, 2020 is National Travel and Tourism Week here in the USA. And while it won’t be too long before we’re exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest and beyond once again, for now, we’ll have to settle for staycations at home.
Luckily, there are ways to see more of Washington virtually to help pass the time. Right now, three of the Evergreen State’s up-and-coming tourist spots are offering some fantastic free content to share in hopes of lifting your spirits. And in the future, when restrictions are lifted, they’d all love to have you visit in person.
1. The Columbia River Basin is a rugged and beautiful area. Still, you may not think of the Tri Cities as a hot spot for tourists.
But this part of Washington is finally being recognized for the delicious food-producing, vineyard-filled, and family-friendly destination that is truly is.
The Tri Cities region is currently celebrating National Travel And Tourism Week with virtual experiences highlighting the people and places that make real life visits so special.
Just visit the Tri Cities' Facebook page every day this week at 1 PM to learn more about the region and even get virtual toasts from the region’s top craft beverage producers like Sage Brewing Company. And don't worry if you're late or you miss a day -- the videos will stay up.

2. Red Mountain AVA, Washington’s most acclaimed grape growing region, is located just outside of the Tri Cities.
Head to the Red Mountain AVA Facebook page every Thursday at 4 p.m. to join the region’s winemakers, growers and characters for tours, tips, tricks, and tastings. They release a buying guide one week prior here.
3. Craving more of a coastal virtual adventure? Try visiting Whidbey and Camano Islands.
These islands are well-known for their rugged natural beauty, vibrant arts scene, and fantastic restaurants (especially seafood).
While leisure travel to the islands is not currently encouraged, you can check out gorgeous photos and videos in the meantime and start planning a future trip.
