Comfort food is key to getting through these hard times, so it’s truly a blessing that restaurants are still allowed to offer takeout and delivery. One popular Austin spot, Ramen Tatsu-Ya, has added a to-go option for the first time ever in light of the current circumstances. Now, you can eat delicious noodle soup on the couch while watching your favorite movie.
With three locations in Austin and one in Houston, Ramen Tatsu-Ya is on a mission to bring "the soul food of Japan" to Texas. The restaurant has never offered takeout before, but in light of the current circumstances, all your favorite menu items are eligible for to-go orders!
Start with some edamame, either regular or spicy. The latter is topped with citrus juice, jalapeno, sea salt, togarashi, and lemon soy sauce. The perfect small bite to cleanse your palate before the meal.
Seven different bowls of ramen promise to satisfy every palate. Whether you like pork, chicken, or even tofu, rest assured nobody finishes their meal hungry.
This mouthwatering creation is known as "Mi-So-Not," and it's loaded with goma pork, ajitama, scallions, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, and corn. All of that deliciousness is swimming in a pork bone and miso broth blend that imparts a simply to-die-for umami flavor.
Everyone knows the best way to judge a bowl of ramen is by how well it can be slurped, and these noodles certainly pass the test. In fact, the restaurant even has its own hashtag -- "#rtyslurp" -- for patrons to document that first glorious bite.
Ramen Tatsu-Ya's sister restaurant, Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, is an izakaya, or Japanese bar that serves small bites to accompany the alcoholic beverages. They're also taking to-go orders, so this spread could be on your very own dining table!
