Up for some good old-fashioned fun? How about a debate? New Jerseyans love their debates (Pork Roll? Taylor Ham?) and a favorite debate/argument/topic of civil discussion is the existence of Central Jersey. I have a pretty strong opinion on the subject but I’m going to leave it up to you! Below, I present evidence that Central Jersey DOES exist…let me know your thoughts in the comments. Have fun but be respectful!

There is no clear, 100 percent agreed upon division between North and South Jersey.

This lack of clarity leaves room for the possibility of a third option - Central Jersey.
Some say the division runs along Interstate 195. This puts Trenton in North Jersey...

Others say the Driscoll Bridge over the Raritan River in Middlesex County is the dividing line. This puts Trenton in South Jersey territory. It also puts parts of Flemington in South Jersey if we draw a line across the state at the Driscoll Bridge.
Others mark the North/South Jersey division by things like preferred sports teams or differences in language (sub or hoagie, Italian ice or water ice, and of course pork roll or Taylor ham).

And it seems like the division is very subjective! People from North Jersey are more likely to label Mercer County as South Jersey while those very clearly in South Jersey territory label Mercer County as being part of North Jersey.
