Now that we’re starting a new one, these restaurants will hopefully stick around for another 10 years or more so we can continue to enjoy their service and menus. If these restaurants are new to you, consider stopping by and giving them a try! You may have missed them in the past 10 years.
Slap's is a fantastic spot for barbecue, as long as they still have some in stock that is. If you get there in time to take your fair pick, snag as much as you can handle because it's always amazing flavor.

For those of us who love chicken fried (maybe about 95% of us Kansans) one of the best spots in the whole state is theBarn in Burrton. Fresh chicken fried is always a 'yes' for us.
Farley's is often overlooked by travelers, but is a fantastic spot for a hearty meal that'll have you running with the Dala herd in no time. Steak and potatoes is always a pleaser.
If you'd like a healthy(ish) lunch in Pittsburg, you'll want to check out Toast. Their gelato is sublime, and paired next to their farm-to-table fare it's the perfect fill up when you're on the road.

One barbecue spot that may have eluded you over the years is Blind Box. Not only do they make great barbecue, but they have sides you won't find at most barbecue spots.

For lovers of steaks and traveling to new small towns, you'll need to stop in Ellsworth sometime for their steakhouse. They serve some of the best in Kansas, and we're glad they opened up.

Mattie's is known for their amazing home cooked meals and small town service. Whether you're looking for a great dessert or a new cafe to hang out at, this is a good spot to check out.
