Built in 1909, Lamy station has been a primary stop on the rail to Santa Fe and was originally called Galisteo Junction. It was later changed to Lamy in honor of a Santa Fe archbishop. For travelers, the building's Spanish mission style offered them a brief glimpse into Southwest life, with stuccoed walls, a red tiled roof, and sparse though intricate décor still seen in parts of the station today.
Stepping inside the depot, you'll find it still an operating station and that it still maintains a stark, rustic quality. The cafe and taproom keep up this ambiance with minimal decorative touches.
