The R.W. Norton Art Gallery is both an art and nature lover’s paradise.

Featuring more than 400 paintings by more than 100 artists, their permanent collection is extensive, to say the least. From 16th century tapestries to 19th-century silver, the Norton collection features a little bit of everything.

After you’ve checked out the museum, be sure to carve out some time to explore the botanical gardens.

Voted one of the “South’s favorite spots” by Southern Living Magazine, these perfectly landscaped gardens will delight all your senses.

Featuring more than 40 acres of lush scenery, these botanical gardens boast tens of thousands of plants, including both introduced and native azaleas.

When the azaleas are in full bloom in the spring, it’s almost too beautiful to be real.

The quiet walkways have several benches peppered throughout the grounds, ideal for a quiet reflection surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery.

As you walk underneath the canopies of ancient oaks and tall pine trees, you’ll encounter a reflective pond and an arched bridge to give you a better view of your surroundings.

The gardens are open seven days a week from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m.
