From random curios to pieces of Maine history, these stores hold more treasures than a pirate ship. While there are tons to choose from, we love this great converted barn. In addition to feeling unique, it’s full of fun trinkets and goodies that you’ll want to take home with you. It might just be the best antique shop in Maine.

Those who grew up in the Coopers Mills area might remember this building peering out over Route 17 in Maine.

It's the home of Elmer's Barn, one of the most impressive antique shops in the state.

Opened for business in 1976, the store was owned by Elmer Wilson until last year when his daughter took over.

With 3 huge floors of antiques and more than 30 different vendors, this wonderful store is filled with memories that you can buy, but also the kind you can feel.

If you choose to visit, you're likely to meet customers who remember coming here when they were kids.

It's a veritable wonderland for those who are curious!

You'll also find comic books, records, and magazines.

There's plenty of vintage jewelry to be sorted through and given a good home.

While many antique shops look perfectly curated on the outside, the inside holds nothing more than some auction bought pieces with no real sparkle.

Elmer's is different. The outside might be covered in a hodge-podge of tools and furniture, but the inside features antiques you'll actually want to buy.

Elmer's, located off of Route 17 in Coopers Mills, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
