2. They're not prepared for inclement weather.

You know when they're a recent transplant when they start wearing heavier coats at 60 degrees or if they're running around in flip-flops and shorts while it's snowing.
3. They rush to the store at the first sign of snow.

You know the panic in their eyes as they scan the shelves. They heard the word "snow" and now they need to make sure they've got enough food for a whole week.
4. They don't want to hang out at the lake.

6. They refer to Hays as a small town.

Hays is just a town or small city, but small towns in Kansas are 5,000 residents or less. I mean, Wichita and the surrounding suburbs have only about 800,000. Perspective is everything.
