Virtual hands up! Who is beyond ready for spring? Mother Nature’s certainly been toying with our emotions as of late. Giving us a few gorgeous spring-like days, bookended by snow, wind, and freezing temperatures. Soon, however, spring will be here. Here are 10 things every Pennsylvania routinely does at the first sign of spring.
It's straight to the suitcases and to the back of the closet with all those winter clothes. Sure, we’ll probably need them again when a surprise snowstorm hits. For now, though, they’re just a reminder of the frigid weather, the ice, and the snow we just want to leave behind.
A style statement in the winter, those boots go back in the closet now that spring is almost here. After all, we’ve got something a little more comfy to wear on our feet now.

Flip flops! Okay, let’s admit it. Some of us wear flip flops all year long, regardless of the weather. Those fledgling signs of spring, however, give us the perfect excuse to wear them all the time now.

Let the spring sunshine keep our skin warm. Once the temps hit 50, maybe 55, it’s time to break out the shorts. What temperatures usually have you reaching for your shorts?
Turn up the music. Roll the windows down and hit the open road for a leisurely drive. Nothing says spring like a breeze blowing through the car and whipping our hair.

Out with the stuffiness of winter. We open all the windows to let the fresh air flow in and to hear the sweet song of the birds. Or, we just turn on the A/C, depending on how high the temperatures reach.
All those cozy winter days spent indoors were fun. But, now it’s time to get outside and soak up the fresh air and the warm sunshine. That means hiking, going to state parks, and hitting the local playgrounds (if we’ve got kids).
Spring means the start of a lot of fun activities, including opening day at our local amusement park. Those first signs of spring get us in the mood for cotton candy, roller coasters, and a trip to Kennywood, Hershey Park, Knoebels, and (insert your favorite PA amusement park here).

Camping is just in our blood. Thankfully, PA’s brimming with campgrounds (many that are open all year around). These hints of spring mean we’re raring to make our first camping reservations of the season.
Okay, maybe we sigh. Maybe we curse with fists raised. (Maybe that’s a little dramatic, but you get the idea.) Usually, however, we just accept that our beautiful spring days are going to be interrupted, at least a few times, by the return of snow and frigid temps.
