Midland, Michigan Has Its Very Own Santa School

During the holiday season, Michigan sure is festive. With countless light displays, plenty of cheer, and all sorts of activities throughout the state, there’s no shortage of Christmas delight to be had. The Charles W. Howard Santa School operates out of Midland, Michigan.

This fascinating institution is the oldest of its sort in the country, and there’s a certain magic inside. If you want to learn the ways of St. Nick, this is the place for you.

The CWH Santa Claus School opened its doors in 1937 and is now in its 81st year of training eager students in the timeless traditions of Santa Claus.

The school, which operates as a non-profit, welcomes applications for its annual three-day course. Aspiring Mrs. Claus portrayers are also encouraged to apply!

During classes at CWH, aspiring Santas will study a variety of topics. From reindeer habits to Santa sign language, there’s plenty to learn about.

Santa School attendees will enjoy lectures from all sorts of longtime Santas, offering them the unique opportunity to learn from the best of the best.

Each student will leave well-versed in the history of Santa Claus, prepared to properly present as the man in red, and up-to-date on the hottest new toys.

There’s even a full-fledged graduation banquet, which brings together all the students and their families in the ultimate celebration of Christmas spirit.

In 2018, Santa School will be held from October 11th-13th. Applications are available on the CWH website, which we’ve included below.
