We know that there are quite a few movies that are filmed in Tennessee, but what about the motion pictures that actually feature our great state as a backdrop? Sure, Nashville makes a cameo in “The Matrix” and you’ll find a glimpse of the Memphis skyline in “The Silence of the Lambs,” but what we’re actually interested in is a movie that exalts our great state to its fullest extent.
Gwyneth Paltrow spent quite a bit of time in Nashville during the filming of "Country Strong" back in the early 2000s. Although the film criss-crosses the nation, the Nashville-based country singer bears the brunt of the film and represents the dark underbelly of Tennessee's music scene.
It came as no surprise that Franklin-born Miley Cyrus would base her aptly named film in the heart of Tennessee. Miley rambles around Nashville and its suburbs in this cutesy, Disney-helmed film.

A John Grisham masterpiece, "The Client" follows a young boy as he attempts to untangle himself from his role as a witness in a local Mafia killing. You'll be on the edge of your seat, and may just catch a glimpse of Memphis, Tennessee and a solid minute in New Orleans.
