The highest road in Massachusetts runs through some of the most dramatic terrain in the state.
Located on Mount Greylock, Rockwell Road reaches an elevation of 3,491 feet above sea level and is an absolutely peerless way to experience the drama and beauty of the mountain. You can take this road all the way to the summit of Mount Greylock.
Built between 1906 and 1907, Rockwell Road is open annually from late May through November. It will take you through the dense alpine forest of the lower mountain and finally deposit you on the magnificent peak, where you’ll find breathtaking panoramic views.
