Whether it’s a familiar smell or the sight of your favorite sports team, you’re bound to feel a little homesick. These 13 things will always make us Kansans think of home, no matter what.
Whether you're a fan of purple and silver, blue and red, or red and gold, you'll feel homesick just seeing those colors together out and about.
Odds are you've had one pass you or drive in front of you for a stretch of time. If you traveled a lot as a kid, like me, you're pretty familiar with this particular scent coming through your vents.

Every sunset here is packed with color, and it helps that we're so good at photographing them. At least our cameras get good use!

The sight of the horizon fading into blue is just amazing, and paired with seeing clouds coming for miles isn't a treat you can find anywhere. Seeing something like this is something many Kansans take for granted.
The western meadowlark has a distinct call, and if you've ever lived near them, you'll recognize it's absence when you leave.
Watching low hills as far as you can see might make you homesick too, especially if the hills seem to go down, rather than up. It's an apt description for the hills that cover some of our Eastern side.
