The owners decided to start this ranch after a trip out west. Having grown up in the area, they knew the Driftless Region was the perfect spot for a Midwestern ranch. They quit their 9 to 5 jobs and at first, this was just a home to horses and really, really good cookies.
They created something magical here in this wilderness of Southwestern Wisconsin. Folks who came to stay talk about the peace and quiet and feeling rejuvenated after just a few days. They talked about renewed spirits and being able to reset.
Sit on your porch in the provided rocking chairs and be unplugged. Turn off your phone, forget about real life for a few days, and let nature soothe your mind.
The owners joke that the ranch offers "a whole lot of nothin'" but that doesn't apply to the cabins. Sure, there's no pool or playground, but there are spacious, welcoming, beautiful cabins with big, comfortable beds as well as sitting areas. It definitely is a place to get away from it all, but it could also be a stellar writers' retreat or weekend away with your knitting group. It's the relaxed pace that's important here.
One of the owners is famous for his baking, so much so that his cookies are one of the reasons people kept coming back. Now they're available for sale here on site and he has a bakery in Viroqua.
