The Whimsical Playground In Wisconsin That’s Straight Out Of A Storybook

Tucked along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Port Washington is a playground that was named one of the ten best in the country by USA Today. Taking up about a football field’s worth of land, the playground has a separate area for younger children and features a recycled-tire groundcover that not only cushions falls, but allows for wheelchairs and other disability aids in a way woodchips or other cover might not.

Created through fundraising and volunteer construction, the playground is truly a product of its community. Every element has been thoughtfully chosen to work motor skills and enhance creativity.
