The Remnants Of This Once Popular Wisconsin Amusement Park Are Terribly Creepy

Fort Dells was Wisconsin’s answer to Disney’s “Frontierland.” The park opened in June of 1959 and was a pretty big hit until it closed in 1985. There were rides and other attractions, but the park is most remembered for the interaction with guests. This was a park that generations bonded over, and it is looked upon with great nostalgia.

Since it was closed, nothing has been done with the park. So what was once filled with laughing children is now dormant. And it’s kinda creepy to see. So here are some pics of Fort Dells – both pre- and post-closure.

Did you go to Fort Dells? Have any great family photos of the park in its prime? Be sure to share on the Only in Wisconsin Facebook page.
