Have you lived in Wisconsin all your life? Just moved here two months ago? Whether you’re the native or the transplant, you quickly realize that there are certain things that people from Wisconsin love and truly cannot live without.
Cheese goes with pretty much every food. Heck, we even make fudge with cheese. And it's delicious. We're cheeseheads and we are proud of it.
Everyone in Wisconsin loves beer. We produce some of the best beers out there, and we are responsible for some of those beers that burn on the way down. But either way, we are a beer-loving state!
Brats are like hotdogs on steroids. They are delicious, juicy, and part of the food culture up here. They're great off the grill at home or, even better, at the stadium.
We love watching our Packers and Badgers play ball. Football is not merely a "fall activity" but is something we are all about year-round. We love to tailgate, and when the game is on, the streets are pretty dead.
Is there a better summer activity than going out on a boat with your family and tubing? I don't think so. Falling off is as much fun as hanging on for dear life.
6. Enjoying All Four Seasons
Some argue that we don't really even have four seasons in Wisconsin, but we do have a lovely autumn and one of the best summers climate-wise. Winter can be tough, but activities like skiing make it a little bit more tolerable.
Look to your left, look to your right, there are gorgeous farms that are quite a sight. They are particularly gorgeous when they have been harvested, too. We love the beauty of our farms, and we love the farmers, because they feed us.
Wisconsin has some absolutely amazing places to hike and take photos. Really, they are spread all over the state. Places that come to mind immediately are Devil's Lake State Park and Peninsula State Park. If you are a hiker, biker, or just like a little nature once in a while, these are right up your alley.
9. Fish Fry
A huge part of the Wisconsin tradition is that Friday night fish fry. It's nothing fancy--just fresh caught fish and some basic sides. The community coming together makes it a complete meal.
From Summerfest to the Wisconsin State Fair, people in Wisconsin know how to celebrate. Summerfest is the largest music festival in the world, bringing some of the best acts. The Wisconsin State Fair is truly one of the best state fairs in America.
11. Other Wisconsinites
More than anything, we are a state of small towns with close, tight-knit communities. We thrive when we are with other people. That's what makes us great.
I can’t live without these, and I certainly don’t want to live without these. Thanks, Wisconsin!
