Bear Rocks Preserve is located on the eastern edge of the Dolly Sods area of Monongahela National Forest.

The "rocks" of Bear Rocks are comprised of sandstone, whose shapes have been carved by wind. Its peaks overlook the south branch of the Potomac River with a view that extends 35 miles out to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.

From up on high, Bear Rocks Preserve will give you views of West Virginia the likes of which you will not find anywhere else. Find the top and look across to the horizon stretching away in the distance. It is unlikely you will find a view more beautiful in the entire state.
