Ramps are a pretty big deal in West Virginia. We just can’t get enough of these tasty (if stinky) wild onions. Each year you’ll find local feasts and festivals celebrating this delicious sign of spring’s arrival.

1. Delightfully Delicious Ramp Feast, Buckhannon
This dinner is hosted by Fish Hawk Acres on March 26 from 12 PM - 5 PM. Tickets are $35.00 per person. Reservations are required, so call 304-473-7741 for more information and to reserve your seat. Address: 5 W. Main Street, Buckhannon, West Virginia 26201.
2. 4th Annual Shortline Ramp Festival, Pine Grove
This festival will take place on Saturday, April 8, from 11 AM - 3 PM. There will be bluegrass music, crafts, and tasty ramp dishes. The festival will be at the Robert C Byrd Center in Pine Grove, West Virginia 26419.
3. 2017 Feast of the Ramson, Richwood
This festival is where it all began! The first ramp festival in West Virginia took place here in 1937. This year's feast will be held at the Cherry River Elementary School in Richwood. There will be live music, entertainment, an Art and Craft Show and a ramp dinner. It will take place on April 22, 2017.
4. StinkFest 2017, Huntington
This festival is hosted by The Wild Ramp shop. It will take place Saturday, April 22 from 10 AM - 4 PM. Address: 555 14th St W, Huntington, West Virginia 25704.
5. 9th Annual Ramps & Rail Festival
This is the perfect West Virginia combination of ramps and trains at the Elkins Depot Welcome Center. There will be over 40 food and craft vendors, a silent auction, and train rides. It will take place Saturday, April 29 from 9 AM - 5 PM. Address: 315 Railroad Ave, Elkins, West Virginia 26241.
6. Helvetia Ramp Supper
This little Swiss town usually has their dinner on the last Saturday in April each year. They host a ramp-themed dinner followed by square dancing.
7. Timbersports Competition and Ramp Feast, Flat Top
In addition to ramp dishes, this festival also feature a lumberjack competition! It will take place April 29 – April 30 at Camp Creek State Forest in Flat Top, West Virginia.
