There’s no doubt about it, Virginians are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. From our Southern hospitality to our significant contributions in the worlds of science, politics, arts and culture, we have a lot to offer. But those things not withstanding, there are many, many reasons why Virginians are the best. And while I might be just a little biased, here are a few of them…

1. We know that manners matter.

2. We go out of our way to lend a helping hand.

In February 2015, Tommy Adams from Crewe set an example for all of us when he stops to help an elderly man shovel snow. The 17-year old high school senior made it to the national news after his photo and story went viral.
3. And we're always there for one another when it counts.

The state slogan, "Virginia is for Lovers", was adopted in 1969, and while it’s one of the most well-known state slogans in the country, to Virginians its simple. We love our home state – and all that it stands for.
