Virginia is the land of unique attractions, be they bizarre roadside stops or unusual theme parks. But most people don’t realize there’s a dinosaur park right here in Virginia that will excite visitors of all ages. Since 1963, White Post’s Dinosaur Land has welcomed visitors from near and far to interact with these statuesque dinosaur creatures. This park is a combination of whimsy, fun, and all things dinosaur.
If you've been searching for a way to step into prehistoric times, now's your chance. Dinosaur Land features over 50 dinos at any given time, providing one of the must unusual and entertaining attractions in the area.
This place is an instant hit for any children interested in dinosaurs, and will also entertain adults with the whimsical staged fights and attractions such as King Kong. As you can tell from the picture above, you can even pretend to be a damsel in distress for the perfect photo op.
Perhaps what's so unique about Dinosaur Land is that not all the attractions are dinosaur related at all. Some of the other favorites include the massive shark and octopus statues. These are such novelty landmarks that you might not even notice the paint slowly chipping away.
As mentioned before, it's an incredibly kid-friendly place. Children can even have their birthday parties here. For those in the mood for more learning than playing, there are informational signs that discuss each creature and its role in natural history.
Admission is very reasonable, at only $6 per adult visitor and $5 for kids. A great way to spend a little more cash and also support the park is by visiting the large gift shop. There you'll be able to find just about every dinosaur-related token imaginable.
On average, you can spend about a half an hour browsing the many dinosaurs. Some of the dino representatives you'll meet are the Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Giganotosaurus, and of course, the King of all dinosaurs...
T-Rex! No dinosaur park could be complete without this majestic creature.
