We often plan our camping trips well in advance, and sometimes we have to wait a year before we can set up our site. Lucky for us it’s easy to make reservations at Vermont State Parks and other campsites. However, sometimes advance planning just isn’t in the cards. So the next time you find yourself yearning to spend the night under the stars, these 6 places are first come, first serve. No reservation camping in VT is just waiting for you!
For a truly special experience, hike to the summit of Bald Mountain and snag the cabin which sleeps four. The views are out of this world (especially at sunrise) so we recommend getting there early since it's first come first serve. Bring a tent as a backup, too.
Weston is known for it's Vermont Country Store, but hiding in the forest is a campsite waiting for you to pop in.

Pop up your tent and roast some marshmallows in one of the sweet spots here. Some areas are close to each other, others are set apart and each has their own fire pit so get there early to take your pick.
