The Volunteer State is known for many things: Southern hospitality, epic barbecue, and scenic beauty a la the Great Smoky Mountains. But castles? Not so much. That’s what makes this castle in Gallatin, Tennessee, such a unique treasure.

If you’ve taken a drive through Sumner County, you may have seen this stunning structure rise up from the rolling hillside. The gorgeous castle-esque home belongs to Gallatin couple Ron and Linda Boyle, a Tennessee couple with a love for the renaissance. The glorious castle on the hill is located off of Highway 109 and gives Gallatin a bit of romance in all its country glory.

If you enjoyed gazing upon the Gallatin Castle from afar, you'll be chuffed to check out Williamswood Castle, which you can actually venture inside! And not only that, but you can spend the night, too! This glorious castle in Tennessee is surrounded by the beautiful Ijams Nature Center, so you'll feel as if you've wandered into another world. Although it's located only 10 minutes from the heart of Knoxville, 300 acres of natural space keeps the property beautifully isolated. The interior is just as magnificent as the exterior of the castle, if not more.
