Tennessee is a vibrant place, full of characters and crazies and all those wonderful people that make it a neat home. We scavenged the countryside and found twelve types of people you’ll most commonly find walking the streets, but the question you have to ask yourself is: which one are YOU?
12) The Hospitable Church Lady
You know this lady - the sweet, kindly pastor's wife with a soft smile and a place in the church choir. You're always welcome around her table - and she'll talk for you to ages afterwards, too!
11) The Coffee Snob
Nashville has been BOOMING when it comes to the coffee arena, so don't feel too surprised when you catch up to a couple baristas with their arms crooked behind their backs and noses in the air.
10) Down Home Honey
That sweet as pie lady that raises her kids out on the river and homeschools the lot of 'em.
9) The Hillbilly from Hicktown
I mean, we all know them. The people that live in the WAY sticks and come on out erry once in awhile to give us a bit of a show. Don't deny it - you know that guy.
8) The Hometown Hero
The men that serve their country and love their families, the hometown boys that moved beyond the football field to places of leadership in the home and at church.
7) The Sweet Suburban Mama
They're on the PTA and run the carpool, but these Tennessee mamas were once homecoming queens that now speak with the prettiest lilt of an accent.
6) The Nashville Hipster
Tats and coffee and guitars, minus the job. Sound familiar?
5) The Solid Old Timers
They built the state and defended their country and are never scared to tell you about the good ol' days.
4) The Young Lovers
The grandchildren of the old timers, these are the Tennesseans that give the state hope. There's a future in those bright eyes, folks.
3) The Absolute Newbie
Yeah, yeah - word got out. There are thousands of transplants and they stick out with their organic food and that Prius in the driveway. Calm down and have a biscuit, why don't ya?
2) The Wannabe Country Star
Music City is full of wannabes, people that sing on the streets and are jonesin' for that next great record deal. You'll find those pining away for the spotlight in any bar, or on Broadway in Nashville.
1) The Original Tennessean
Few and far between, someone with heart, character, and a solid love for their home. It's hard to find the original Tennessean, but once you do? You'll never forget it.
