Have you ever dreamt of making your home amongst the gentle Hobbits in the Shire? Do you sigh after the closing credits to every “Lord of the Rings” film, dreading the nine-to-five in the morning? Well, plan your weekend for a trip to Santa Fe, Tennessee, because we have QUITE the surprise for you. Do you dare head out on an adventure…?
Forest Gully Farm is the kind of place that makes childhood dreams come true. Just looking at that photo up there probably has the nerdy "Lord of the Rings" teen in you with their jaw on the floor. Yes - you can live like a hobbit. And yes - you can do it all in Tennessee.
The neat, underground pods are fashioned in the way of our favorite Tolkien locale. Located on a small farm, there are three underground huts that are available for glamping purposes through their Airbnb page (you can find the link at the bottom of this article).
Forest Gully operates as an experimental mini-farm and orchard. The owners, Jon and Mandy Giffin, work the 29 acres in hopes to form and develop a flourishing food forest.
As you can tell, it's quite family friendly! The magical spot is great if you're looking to delve into the beauty of our great Tennessee natural landscape.
As you can tell, inside the pods you will be able to enjoy simple, clean settings. It's no Ritz-Carlton - but you ARE that much closer to Middle Earth.
Forest Gully Farms will open as of April 22nd, 2017, so you have some time to plan your trip. Wander through their farming trails, talk a walk by the creek. There are even two waterfalls on the property!
Ready to adventure? You'd better start planning! Time slots are already booking up through the summer, and you don't want to miss out. If you aren't lucky enough to snag a spot that works with your schedule, you can always visit during their planned "Farm Days." Forest Gully plans to have a Sunday to Wednesday schedule that allows for you to plan a tour, take a hike and enjoy the space.
