This Delightful General Store In Southern California Will Have You Longing For The Past
General stores are wonderful remnants of California’s rich history. While shopping at any one of the
general stores in Southern California is enjoyable, there’s one store that provides a unique, historic experience.
You'll find RUST General Store at the Old Town San Diego State Park. Step inside this little store and you'll step right back in time.
The entire store reflects the time period between 1846-1872, when San Diego was a bustling place with European travelers, traders and early residents. Storekeepers even dress in period costume.
The items in this adorable store are for sale, and they're all either produced locally, or the type of merchandise you might have found in this area in the mid-1800s.
You'll love the various gifts you'll find here, including the line of RUST products.
You'll find tasty, 19th century-style treats, like these handmade caramels.
Pick up some beard and hair balm (you'll want to look good for the ladies, after all).
Spoil yourself with some locally-made soaps, or give them as gifts.
Enjoy a meal at RUST. The bistro inside has some incredible, gourmet sandwiches. sausages and shared plates.
Every menu item is named for a historical San Diego resident. This is the Vincent Lucia sandwich and Juana Storens salad.
The homemade cakes and cookies are so good you'll add an extra cheat day to your week.
Sit on the back patio to enjoy your snack or meal.
Visit RUST General Store seven days a week.
The store is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. It's located at 2720 Calhoun Street, San Diego.
