What are some of the best ski resorts in Southern California?

Who says you can’t have a good time at a ski resort in Southern California? Sure, this state might be known for its (albeit amazing) beaches and piers, but maybe it ought to get some love for its ski resorts, too. As it turns out, there are a lot of places in SoCA where you can get your winter fun on, like Snow Summit Resort, and its sibling, Bear Mountain Resort, both of which are in Big Bear Lake. Snow Summit is home to 27 epic trails for skiing, sledding, and more. Bear Mountain is less for traditional skiing and more for things like cross-country skiing and sledding, and it’s got 14 terrain parks to choose from. Another ski resort in Southern California that simply doesn’t get enough love is the awesome Snow Valley Resort, which can be found on the western slope of the San Bernardino Mountains. It’s home to 240 skiable acres, and it’s truly awe-inspiring (not to mention a total blast). Finally, there’s Mount Baldy Resort, which is great for day trips since it’s so close to Los Angeles.

Where are the best sled riding hills in Southern California?

With great ski resorts comes great sled riding hills, and Southern California is no exception to the rule. Just like there are several options for those craving a ski resort getaway around here, there are also options for sled riding hills, too. One of our favorite sled riding hills in Southern California is the awesome North Pole Tubing Park – also called Yeti’s Snow Park – which is just two hours from Los Angeles and features loads of fun stuff to do, including epic sledding opportunities. West of Big Bear Lake is California’s oldest and largest tubing park, Snow Drift Tubing Park, which has been host to family wintertime shenanigans for ages now. Finally, check out the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain, which is the only place in Southern California that offers authentic bobsledding experiences. Learn more about the awesome North Pole Tubing Park and start planning your wintertime vacay ASAP!
