The Mountain Coaster In South Dakota That Will Take You On A Ride Of A Lifetime
Looking for something fun to do that will get you out into South Dakota’s beautiful scenery, but doesn’t require a hike? Take a look at this fun mountain coaster – a thrilling ride with incredible views.
The Rushmore Mountain Coaster at Rush Mountain Adventure Park just opened last summer.
The coaster starts with a tall hill to get the momentum going. Your cart is securely attached to the rail, and you're buckled into a seatbelt, so it's perfectly safe.
Don't worry - this coaster is suitable even for people who aren't necessarily thrill seekers. Every cart is equipped with a hand brake, so you can go as slow or fast as you'd like.
If you're a daredevil, you'll reach speeds of up to 30 mph!
If you'd like to take it slow and easy, no problem - just use the handbrake to slow your cart down. The 3,400-foot track is elevated, so you'll have some incredible views during your ride.
Just like an amusement park coaster, the Rushmore Mountain Coaster has plenty of twists and turns. This coaster takes you right through the trees!
The coaster has one-person and two-person carts. Enjoy the ride on your own, or hop aboard with a friend (or small child).
Riders must be 54" tall to ride by themselves. To take a passenger, one person must be 54" tall and at least 16 years old. There's a 375 lb. weight limit per cart.
The Rushmore Mountain Coster is open on weekends now!
Rush Mountain Adventure Park is open on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm through April. Regular summer hours start on May 1st, when the park is open seven days a week.
