Who knew there was rooftop dining in South Dakota?! These places are totally real and they exist in our amazing state. With the warmer weather already upon us, now is the perfect time to add these incredible restaurants to your “summer must-visit” list. There aren’t a ton of places that offer rooftop dining in South Dakota, so its good to get out there and support the few that do!
1. Vertex Sky Bar at Hotel Alex Johnson in Rapid City.
Romantic date or girls night out? This is the perfect place. Located on the top floor of the Alex Johnson Hotel, the jaw-dropping scenic views are only second to the fine cuisine served here.
2. Saloon #10 in Deadwood.
Breathe deep the mountain air from this rooftop patio. Saloon #10 offers an American Whiskey bar, signature cocktails and a full menu. All of this with a view that will make you never want to leave. Perfect under the sun or under the stars, you absolutely must visit.
3. Buglin' Bull Restaurant and Sports Bar in Custer.
This family friendly sports bar and restaurant has a little something for everyone. You can order anything from pizza to wild boar at this unique restaurant. They even have a beer flight featuring a beer called "Elk Poop Stout". Most importantly, you can do it all while seated on their terrace!
4. Upper Crust Pizza & Wings in Chamberlain.
Another family friend hot spot, Upper Crust is your go to for pizza, craft beer and outdoor dining. This neat little rooftop patio gives a view of the MIssouri River. This is the perfect stop on your drive across the state!
5. Club David in Sioux Falls.
Okay, so maybe this isn't a full on restaurant but you can still enjoy an ice cold beer on this rooftop patio. With a view overlooking downtown Sioux Falls, its the perfect place to get in on all the action and events happening in the heart of the city.
6. Que Pasa Mexican Kitchen in Rapid City.
Que Pasa is the perfect combination of authentic Mexican food, tequila and an outdoor patio. The atmosphere is casual and the menu is full of your favorites like "Chicken Enchiladas" and the "Ultimate Carne Asada Burrito". It's worth a special trip to Rapid City to partake in this dining experience.
