2. Shawn Colvin

Shawn Colvin, a singer, songwriter, and musician, was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on January 10, 1956. She's best known for her hit song "Sunny Came Home," which won her a Grammy Award in 1998.

3. Charles Gemar

Charles Gemar is a former NASA astronaut who was born in Yankton, South Dakota on August 4, 1955. He has flown on three Space Shuttle missions.
