South Carolina Has A Grand Canyon And It’s Too Beautiful For Words
South Carolina’s own “grand canyon” is located in the Upstate and called the Jocassee Gorges.
In 2012, National Geographic designated the Gorges a “destination of a lifetime,” and included the Jocassee Gorges in a list of “50 Of The World’s Last Great Places.”
Devils Fork State Park in Salem, SC is located alongside Lake Jocassee and is a wonderful spot to take the family to experience the Jocassee Gorges firsthand. The address is: 161 Holcombe Cir, Salem, SC 29676
