You’ll Never Guess What’s Hiding In Plain Sight Right Here In South Carolina
Over in Woodruff, SC at the intersection of SC-417 and Green Pond Road there’s a huge flat concrete arrow in the middle of the crossing. Approximately 50 to 70-feet in length, the giant indicator seems to be pointing the way to some unknown destination.

Actually, this monumental directional device was a primative, albiet effective, navigational device for pilots. That’s right. There’s a huge concrete piece of aeronautical history hiding in plain sight in the upstate.
Many of the arrows across the country have been removed by developers or by farmers. Did you know these existed? Have you seen the only known remaining Airmail navigational arrow in South Carolina?
