When you live in Rhode Island, people already think you’re a little weird. And we’re OK with that. There are some ideas out there though that can be a little irksome, or hilarious, depending on how you look at it. Here we will set a few misconceptions about Rhode Island straight.

1. We're an island.

Er, no. We do contain several islands, like Aquidneck Island, Conanicut Island, Block Island, Prudence Island, Dutch Island, Goat Island, Gould Island, etc. But Rhode Island is not an island.
2. We eat lobster every day.

Nope. But I think they do up in Maine.
3. Quahog, RI from Family Guy is a real place.

Quahog was made up in the twisted mind of Seth McFarlane who graduated from Rhode Island School of Design. However, the real skyline of Providence can be seen behind the Griffin house.
