Watts Theatre

The Watts Theatre opened its doors in 1950 with a showing of “Dancing in the Dark.” At the time, the small theatre was state of the art and included 580 seats – and living quarters upstairs for the Watts family.

Since then, the theatre has undergone several renovations, including widening of the aisles, equipment upgrades, a new roof, and a complete overhaul of the apartment, which is now used as a viewing room and party facility.

Despite all the upgrades and owner changes, the theatre still holds true to the tradition of showing family movies in a hometown environment – and the best popcorn in Iowa!
