You’ll find colorful Caribbean flair, classic American comfort food dishes, and an atmosphere you just can’t beat at Sweet Spice Restaurant and Bar. Chef Donavon Smith grew up on Westmoreland, Jamaica, where his first formal cooking lessons were in his mother’s kitchen. Donavon came to America and joined the Army, after years serving, he eventually found himself back in the kitchen and in his new culinary niche of Savannah.

He cooks up classes dishes he learned from his mother like Jerk Chicken and roti (a seasoned flatbread). But even the flavor shy will find something they like here. Sweet Spice has a friendly, personal atmosphere, and you might just have a conversation with Donavon himself.
