The Isle of Wright County Museum was founded in 1976 by volunteers seeking to preserve the county’s rich history. At the museum you’ll find prehistoric fossils, a turn-of-the century county store and also, the world’s oldest ham. This Smithfield cured ham dates back to 1902 and landed Isle of Wright on our ‘Weirdest Places’ list.

While a super old ham is weird, it’s also pretty cool, and the museum is a neat attraction for locals and visitors. Click on the website to watch the 24/7 ham cam!
