Now, we all know that Portland has a huge reputation. We are known for our delicious food, the array of art we offer, and our bustling music scene; but above all else, we are known for our city’s beauty. Here are the most charming and beautiful neighborhoods in Portland.
1. Clinton-Richmond District
This could be considered the hub of Portland. Clinton-Richmond District encompasses most of SE Portland, including the famous Hawthorne District. Chalk full of music and art, this is probably the most lively of Portland's neighborhoods.
With its curvy, tree-lined roads, Laurelhurst is one of the most attractive neighborhoods in the city. At its center is Laurelhurst park, which has a gorgeous pond that's hidden in the trees.
3. Alberta Arts District
If you walk down Alberta Street, you will find some of the city's best food, bars, and street art. Two things you have to check out: Grilled Cheese Grill, where you get to eat the tastiest custom grilled cheese in an actual vintage school bus and Last Thursday, Portland's monthly art festival to check out the beautiful art.
4. Mississippi District
If you're looking for good happy hours and the city's greatest music, Mississippi Avenue is the place to go. You have to check out Mississippi Studios to hear some of beautiful music and to grab a burger on their back patio.
5. Hollywood District
The Hollywood district is perfect for those of you that can't decide between small town and big city. The Sandy Boulevard strip holds the area's main businesses and the surrounding is some of Portland's cutest residential streets.
As one of Portland's most underrated neighborhoods, Sellwood/Moreland is home to some of Portland's greatest features: Oak's Amusement Park, Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, and Reed College.
7. Pearl District
The Pearl District is known for its fun and urban setting. There you'll find most of Portland's greatest restaurants and its target patron, the young business professional.
8. Nob Hill
Nob Hill is one of those neighborhoods that provides something to do on every block and whether it's a fun bar, cute boutique, or a delectable restaurant, it's sure to be a splendid time. Pro tip: take public transit to this area because the parking hunt is no fun!
9. St. John's
An off-set Portland neighborhood that holds some of the best hidden restaurant gems and the gorgeous St. John's Bridge. I mean, look at that view!
