Note: The Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Spring Resort shut down in 2018 due to financial struggles. For nearly five years this Oregon icon was left abandoned. However, new management has taken over and plans to fully refurbish the resort. It was scheduled to re-open in June 2023.

Unfortunately, a major storm hit the area in May 2023 which caused over $500,000 worth of damage and set the opening back. The grand re-opening is now planned for the summer of 2024.

  • Hart Mountain Hot Springs, Lake County, OR: Near the small town of Plush, Oregon you'll find this hidden oasis more commonly called Antelope Springs. It is incredibly remote and quiet, which is perfect for a hot springs getaway. There may not be many people but you will find an abundance of wildlife, including pronghorn, big horn sheep, and perhaps a sneaky rattlesnake or two (dozen). The hot spring itself is in an enclosed area with wooden benches and old stone walls that give you some privacy while still allowing you epic views of the landscape.
  • Crystal Crane Hot Springs, Burns, OR: Another remote hot spring in Oregon is located in this family-run resort that includes cabins, campsites, RV sites, and even a converted sheepherder's wagon. The near-desert landscape of southeastern Oregon feels just like it did in the 1800s when travelers were coming to the region in droves looking for gold.
  • Summer Lake Hot Springs, Paisley, OR: This beautiful area has both indoor and outdoor hot springs to enjoy. There are camping or cabin rentals available, or a reasonable per-day pass can be purchased to soak for the day. The retreat is pretty rustic, but when your goal is to relax in the soothing waters of these natural springs the rustic nature only adds to the experience.
