Glamping in Oregon, anyone? I think there are two kinds of people in the world: the kind who camp and the kind who don’t. The first folks love to throw on a backpack, hike into the woods, and sleep under the stars. The second group feels like they’re really roughing it if the hotel doesn’t have a pool. Luckily, now there’s something in between. Glamping is like camping – it’s in a tent, in the woods. But it’s also kind of like a five-star hotel – luxury linens, television, and central AC. It’s the best of both worlds! Check out these six Oregon glamping spots.

What are the most beautiful hikes in Oregon?

There are tons of hikes in the Beaver State if you are looking for something to complement your Oregon glamping experience. Here are the top ones that I find to be the most beautiful hikes in Oregon:

  • Abiqua Falls Trails: Located in the 47,871-acre Santiam State Forest in Lyons, this five-mile trail will lead you out to the gorgeous 92-foot-tall Abiqua Falls. It’s a great spot for a picnic or a cooling swim.
  • Latourell Falls Trail: Head to the Guy W. Talbot State Park in Corbett for this trail. It is a two-mile loop trail that takes you to a 249-foot waterfall.
  • Angels Rest: This 4.5-mile round-trip trail is located within Shepperd’s Dell State Natural Area in Multnomah County. It is listed as strenuous but well worth the nearly 1,500-foot gain in elevation as you meander through the staggering rock walls. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with a glorious view of the Columbia River Gorge.

What are the most beautiful lakes in Oregon?

While the state does have a beautiful coast, you will also find some beautiful lakes in Oregon, many that are close to Oregon State Parks campgrounds, too!

  • Owyhee Lake: This 53-mile-long lake is located Malheur County. Among the popular activities here include boating, camping, fishing, and swimming.
  • Clear Lake: Head to Linn County for this 148-acre crystal-clear lake. It is a great spot for diving, canoeing, and kayaking. There is also a great five-mile loop trail.
  • Lost Lake: While this 79-acre lake in Hood River County offers great opportunities for boating, swimming, and paddleboarding, it’s also a lovely spot to get some stellar views of Mount Hood. And you can also take in the lake itself through a scenic hike around it.

  • North Clackamas Aquatic Park: Located in Milwaukie, this spot has pools and slides for the kids and kids at heart. There is also a hot tub, climbing wall, and volleyball court. And if you have someone with you who could use a swim lesson or class, they offer that too!
  • Astoria Aquatic Center: This indoor center is perfect year-round. There are four pools, a lazy river, a hot tub, and even a waterslide. They also offer lessons and classes.
