What is a unique place to stay in Oregon?

A unique place to stay in Oregon is:

  • Crater Lake Lodge

If you enjoy cozy little getaways, the Beaver State has lots of wonderful options from which to choose. One of our favorites just so happens to be one of the most unique -- and scenic. Located within Oregon's only national park, Crater Lake Lodge offers amazing accommodations in a bucket-list-worthy setting. To truly experience this magical place, stay overnight at its historic lodge. Crater Lake Lodge opened in 1915, and it's full of historic charm. You'll find it on the southwest rim, 1,000 feet above the lake. The original lodge was pretty simple, with a tar paper exterior and minimal electricity. Throughout the years, the lodge was updated a bit, but it underwent a major renovation in 1991. Some of the original features remain; others are new but styled to match the early 20th-century lodge. Today, it's a luxurious-but-rustic retreat, with 71 well-appointed guest rooms with charming features like clawfoot tubs and subway tile. But the real reason to book a night at Crater Lake Lodge is the scenery; each of the accommodation's rooms boasts million-dollar views sure to take your breath away!

What is an iconic accommodation in Oregon?

An iconic accommodation in Oregon is:

  • The Timberline Lodge

In Oregon, it doesn't get much more amazing -- or iconic -- than The Timberline Lodge. Called the "most legendary" place to stay in Oregon, this beautiful hotel is as charming as it is historic. Built in 1937, Oregon's Timberline Lodge has long been a grand getaway for visitors wanting to experience the magnificence of Mt. Hood. If you’re a movie buff, you'll recognize Timberline Lodge as the same hotel where Jack Nicholson’s character in "The Shining" met his demise! But not to worry; there's nothing spooky about this magnificent place, which features an array of charming accommodations, from cozy suites with fireplaces to luxury condominiums with fully equipped kitchens and multiple bedrooms. And during the holidays, Timberline's Main Lodge Headhouse becomes a delightful, Hallmark-movie-level place to be, complete with a towering Christmas tree and crackling fire! Talk about a cozy Oregon getaway!
